Center of Portugal
The heart of Portugal
The center of Portugal is characterized by its diversity. Starting in a mountainous interior, where we found some of the most characteristic historic villages, through towns and cities loaded with history, where we can find some of the most stunning monuments, classified by UNESCO in the World Heritage List. Ending at the sea between the cosmopolitan cities and fishing villages. Always accompanied by traditional Portuguese cuisine which features cheeses, sausages, fresh fish, roast suckling pig and conventual sweets.
The center of Portugal has one of the most varied and richest tourist appeals we can find in the country. Visiting historical and classified monuments as the monasteries of Batalha and Alcobaça, the University of Coimbra and the Convent of Christ in Tomar.
